Getting Down to Natures Business: The First Annual DC Tree Report Card

In addi­tion to releas­ing the First Annual Tree Report Card, Casey Trees announced an Urban Tree Canopy (UTC) Goal of 40% by 2035. This ambi­tious goal requires 216,300 new trees— approx­i­mately 8,600 a year—added over the next 25 years.

A new inter­ac­tive map— the Casey Trees Map— accom­pa­nies the launch and allows users to deter­mine the tree canopy and poten­tial plant­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties on any street address or place in the Dis­trict of Columbia.

Casey Trees issued the District’s First Annual Tree Report Card on Sat., May 2, giv­ing the City an over­all Grade of B
