FB/WE COMMUNITY VISSIONING: FBA spon­sored pub­lic meet­ings (Vision­ing Ses­sions) to iden­tify what res­i­dents of FB/WE want for their pub­lic facil­i­ties in the West End (WE Library/MPD Spe­cial Ops/Fire Engine Co #1/Stevens School/ Fran­cis School and Recre­ation Facil­i­ties) and issued a pre­lim­i­nary report to guide poten­tial rede­vel­op­ment.
SURVEY REPORT ISSUED : After con­duct­ing a 3-month cus­tomer sur­vey on the cur­rent library struc­ture and pro­gram­ming and hold­ing a pub­lic meet­ing to gather addi­tional feed­back, West End Library Friends (WEL F) issued a March report.

FBA DEMOCRATIC COUNCIL MEMBER PRIMARY DEBATE: FBA spon­sored debate, mod­er­ated by Col­bert King, between Cary Sil­ver­man and Jack Evans prior to the Demo­c­ra­tic Party primary.

Sep­tem­ber thru Decem­ber
FBA mem­bers assist Ward 2 vot­ing precincts in both pri­mary and gen­eral elec­tions. FBA mem­bers con­tinue work­ing with CM Cheh’s office on pri­mary elec­tion vot­ing irreg­u­lar­i­ties. Novem­ber elec­tions resulted in ANC Com­mis­sion­ers Cor­son, Har­mon, Irizarry, Lehrman, and Mali­nen retain­ing their seats and a new com­mis­sioner, Rebecca Coder, for the West End.

OCTOBER 28TH AT-LARGE COUNCIL CANDIDATE DEBATE : FBA spon­sored an impres­sive debate, includ­ing Carol Schwartz (I write-in), Dee Hunter (I), Patrick Mara ®, and Kwame Brown (D).
FBA SUPPORTS FRIENDS OF FRANCIS FIELD: We weigh in on DPR’s Plan for night light­ing for sports events.

FBA sup­ports District-based Devel­oper pro­posal for main­tain­ing Stevens School as a Char­ter School with oper­a­tor Liv­ing Class­room Foun­da­tion and con­struc­tion of mixed used small office and hous­ing. Sub­mis­sion to OPM is rejected.
Lt. La nciano of Ward 2 transf ered by Chief Lanier to Ward 5 rais­ing huge pub­lic out­cry by FB/WE com­mu­nity. FBA, ANC , FOP write let­ters to retain Lan­cianco in Ward 2.

Novem­ber
Met­ro­pol­i­tan Police Depart­ment offi­cials, includ­ing Chief Lanier, spoke at the FBA mem­ber­ship meet­ing on com­mu­nity polic­ing.
