Peo­ple Be Care­ful — Stay Alert!

There was an attempted sex­ual assault on a woman on the Holly Trail in Rock Creek Park in Upper North­west 2 pm, Sat­ur­day April 30. This is a pop­u­lar trail for Chevy Chase, Sil­ver Spring folks who walk with dogs, bicy­cle and run and includes many women run­ning alone, par­tic­u­larly the long dis­tance run­ners which was the case of the woman attacked. She was wres­tled to the ground but was able to grab the knife, bit and cut the attacker’s hands.

The attacker is described as an His­panic male with dark skin, curly hair, 5’6”, in his late 20s with a slen­der build wear­ing a dark blue polo shirt, blue jeans, a black ball cap with a white emblem, rid­ing a black moun­tain bike.
