A SEARCH FOR BALANCE
The Watergate Gallery, 2552 Virginia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20037. 202-338-4488
Constance Fleres sculpture will be on view from May 3 to May 30 at the Watergate Gallery.
Fleres artwork is based on the idea of balance and reflection. Her metal sculptures are kinetic and have arm-like extensions which move with the wind somewhat like birds in flight or butterflies flitting from flower to flower. This movement suggests that for every action there is a reaction. The artist has had major exhibitions in the Washington Metropolitan area, including a large scale sculpture at Metro
Center, and a solo exhibit at the McLean Center for the Arts in McLean, VA.

FBA Annual Report 2006-2007
This past year was a good year for Foggy Bottom and the association, with a number of fun activities for neighborhood residents, from holiday parties to summer barbeques, walking tours, chef tours and many other fun and exciting things to do.
In addition, the FBA waged a continuing battle to restrain GWU’s growth and restore compliance with the Campus Plan.
The FBA’s Community Improvement Committee provided lots of activities including the following:
Walking tour of Foggy Bottom
In October, the Foggy Bottom Association sponsored a walking tour of the Foggy Bottom Historic District. The tour was led by long-time Foggy Bottom resident Steve Timlin who had served as a licensed tour guide of the area for a number of years.
Tour of the House of Sweden
The Foggy Bottom Association made arrangements for a tour of the new House of Sweden in early December. The House of Sweden houses the Swedish Embassy and is located just west of Foggy Bottom on the Potomac River with wonderful panoramic views of the river. The tour included several exhibits of Swedish art and design along with an apartment owned by Ikea.
